Today, WDS is a leader in data collection systems, which utilize real-time radio frequency communication, bar coding, RFID technologies and ruggedized mobile computers providing enterprises with mobility, increased data accuracy and access to real-time information.

Since the company’s founding in 1990, the company has been at the forefront of mobile data collection technology and the application of that technology in system-critical environments.
In 1995, WDS, participating in the Federal Reinvention Lab Initiative that awarded federal agencies and their vendors for using technology to provide improved operations, customer service, and in this case, heightened public security for the aviation industry, designed one of the nation’s first airline baggage security systems. This system was deployed at Miami International Airport.
Wireless Data Systems is a certified partner with virtually all of the leading manufactures in the ruggedized mobile computer space, and has served as a partner-advisor for several new product launches from these manufactures.
