The I-Class Family currently consists of the I-4208, I-4308, I-4210, I-4212, I-4406, and I-4604.

I-Class printers are available with varying printhead resolutions, from 203 to 600 dots per inch, and print speeds, from 4 to 12 inches per second. The Datamax Linear Scanner is an affordable, rugged, and effective alternative to the high cost and complication of a traditional online bar code verifier for your I-Class printer.

Today, it is an assumption that your company will have to affix a certain type of label to its outbound shipments. For example, many businesses require compliance labeling. High-profile compliance labeling exists in the automotive, retail, aerospace and defense industries, but even smaller industries are now introducing labeling initiatives because of the cost savings that can be achieved through a seamless supply channel. A smooth process hinges on impeccable print quality and scanning is the perfect way to ensure that, on every label, the bar codes meet requirements.

The Linear Scanner uses charge-coupled device (CCD) technology to ensure that your printed bar codes are readable. As labels pass under the fixed-position head, they are scanned at a rate of up to 700 hundred times per second. The received signals of light are then converted electrically and digitized. This captured information is compared to the appropriate internal algorithm via a 32-bit microprocessor and analyzed to ensure that the symbology has good contrast, correct bar width ratios, and sufficient quiet zone margins to be decodable.

Fully integrated, different operational modes determine the printer's action once an unreadable bar code is detected, allowing you to tailor the system to your needs. These menu-selectable fault-handling options include automatic reprinting and automatic voiding of any label containing an unreadable bar code.

RFID Printers

Datamax - a Solution Provider Subscriber to EPCglobal - has taken the concept of RFID and smart labels and made it so user friendly, so dynamic and so robust that a revolution has been created in the smart label printing industry! The Datamax Engineering Team used their long history of innovation in printer design and channeled this experience toward designing a new smart label printer. This printer can encode data onto Radio Frequency (RF) chips embedded into a label - also known as a smart label - creating a powerful Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) label printer that is as easy for users to own and operate as other Datamax printers. The astonishing result of this activity is a collection of printers designed to ease users into RFID label printing applications while minimizing risk.

 

H-Class RFID Ready Printer

The new Datamax H-Class RFID Ready printer provides users with the flexibility and modularity they've come to expect from Datamax. The H-Class RFID Ready printer enables field installable RFID "modules" that can be defined to meet the user's application(s). Datamax offers a High Frequency (13.56 MHz) module that is ISO 15693 compliant, as well as an Ultra High Frequency (UHF) multi-protocol module supporting EPCglobal and ISO standards including Gen2. The RFID encoder can be added to an RFID Ready printer in the field by a Datamax authorized and factory trained technician. The H-Class RFID Ready printer option must be specified at the time of printer order.

RFID-UHF Printers

Datamax offers two different printers that support the UHF band; the A-Class print engine for printer applicator integration, and the new H-Class. These printers are ideal for achieving compliance with mandates from large retailers and purchasing organizations, as well as economical enough for those users developing closed loop applications to streamline internal processes. These RFID-UHF printers support EPCglobal and ISO standards for Ultra High Frequency (UHF) applications including Gen2. The robust multi-protocol RFID tag encoder in these printers is capable of performing multiple procedures, including writing data to RFID tags, querying the tags unique identification number, and auto calibration of the tag to ensure no valuable RFID smart labels are wasted. The RFID printer option must be specified at the time of printer order.

RFID-HF Printers

For those users that know they need to encode High Frequency 13.56 MHz smart label tags to fulfill their printing and RFID encoding requirements, Datamax offers a choice of two printers, the I-Class RFID-HF printer and H-Class RFID-HF printer (coming soon). These RFID printers support the ISO 15693 standard at 13.56 MHz. Like the UHF models, the HF model is capable of performing multiple procedures, including writing data to RFID tags, querying the tags unique identification number, and auto calibration of the tag to ensure no valuable RFID smart labels are wasted. The RFID printer option must be specified at the time of printer order.
