But since every wireless LAN requires Ethernet connectivity, Motorola designed the ES3000 to provide the best of both worlds: the Ethernet functionality you need with robust wireless networking support. The result is single device simplicity with the features and functionality you need to achieve optimal performance and operational efficiency in your wireless network.
With Power-over-Ethernet (PoE), you can provide cost-effective power for up to 24 access ports/points — without the need to install costly cabling or outlets. Centralized remote management for PoE-powered devices reduces your operational costs. PoE-powered devices can be reset remotely for rapid troubleshooting, or powered down after operating hours for complete network security. And dynamically power allocation based on actual usage ensures adequate power for access ports and points carrying the most critical traffic.
Combined with mobility features, such as virtual LAN (VLAN) and Quality of Service (QoS), the ES3000 is the ideal Ethernet switch for your wireless LAN.

The ES 3000 Fiber Optic Transceiver from Motorola extends your corporate LAN in distributed environments by connecting Motorola's ES 3000 switch at the edge of the network to core switches and routers. The cost-effective 1 Gbit/sec. connectivity provides high-bandwidth to support all data, video and voice applications.
Plug-and-Play Simplicity
The Small Formfactor Pluggable (SFP) interface delivers true plug-and-play simplicity and a form factor that is half the size of traditional Gigabit Ethernet Interface Converters (GBICs). In addition, the ES 3000 Fiber Optic Transceiver is easy to install and is hot pluggable into ports 25 and 26 on the front face of ES 3000 switches for greater flexibility in system configuration.
